TOASTS & SPEECHES
These normally take place at the end of the meal and would accompany the cutting and distribution of the wedding cake. Try to keep the speeches as light hearted as possible and ensure that each speech is no longer than five minutes.
Usual order of proceedings:
- The Bride
and Groom cut the cake.
- The Best
Man introduces the Brides Father who starts the speeches and proposes
a toast to the Bride and Groom.
- The Bridegroom
replies and thanks the parents and guests. He finishes with a toast
to the bridesmaids.
- The Best Man responds on behalf of the bridesmaids and reads any telegrams.
